I ordered service to start on 3/1/2024. I was never notified when to expect the first bill. As I did not request e-bills, So as of 4/4/2024 I began to watch the mailbox for my first invoice. As the middle of the month approached, I decided to call and ask when to expect the bill. To my astonishment, on or around 4/12/2024, I was told that the first bill was actually generated on 3/8/24 and since it had not been paid a letter of disconnection had been sent out. After speaking to the Customer Service Rep, we were able to sort everything out that day and I had my bank to send an immediate payment, in addition the Customer Service personnel was able to have the late fee reversed. She was extremely helpful. The disconnect with the billing dept not mailing or emailing me the first invoice.

Have really enjoyed saving money
This company has made it easy to get electric, have had wonderful customer service experience's and have never in my life paid such a low electric bill!! There are also a lot of rewards, and xtra's you can get just by being a Xoom customer that have also either saved me money or have earned me cash rewards. I get to use 50% solar, and have the lowest fixed rate plan in this entire area. No surprises here, just one happy customer.

I never knew unlimited electricity for one flat fee was a possibility. But I'm loving it. Its 89 and humid outside, and its 68 degrees in here. No cost per kilowatt just one flat rate every month. Fabulous!

So prior to getting Xoom energy, I had read the reviews on yelp and I was aware that I need to read the contract carefully so I would not get tricked. I did that, and too say the least I am very happy with my decision to go with Xoom energy. I love how they allow you to pay for a kid every month as well as providing affordable and efficient gas!

Ive been a customer with Xoom for 3 years. Unfortunately I have to say that on my last move and switch over my lights were disconnected after 2 weeks only to find out that my lights were not switched over properly and no one could solve my issue and Im without lights for 24 to 48 hours after being on the phone for almost 2 hours of unanswered questions. This sucks for a loyal customer of 3 years of service. I was told that I had to wait on a release order because of the tenants before me witch should have happened at the time of my switch. There goes my food and its cold.

I ordered service online and got confirmation that the service will start on the 5th, today is the 9th still no lights. I am getting work done and have hired contractors they go everyday and I am loosing money everyday. I called today and was told they have a system glitch, so why wasn't I informed some kind of communication would have gone a long way. I could have safe money by not sending the contractors out everyday since he 5th. I asked if they can put a rush on it and was told unless I can approve someone will die then no. Worst service ever. I would suggest you directly to a big company.

Initial promotion price great...long term savings not so much
If you are interested in having a bill you have to pay monthly anyways help a charity then Xoom is a great option. It allows you to pay a bill you'd normally pay and donate to a cause you may care about. If you are interested in saving money then the only time you'll end up doing that is during the introductory offer on their flex plans. I had both gas and electric with Xoom and after months of comparing I found I would have been paying about half by simply going with my local supplier for electric (on both regular and 100% renewable plans) and there were many other options for better pricing on gas. I could have donated to the same charities Xoom participates in with the money I was saving monthly using a different supplier...probably could have donated more than what Xoom was from just my bill.

I had an issue accessing the online portal to pay my bill, I reset my password multiple times, receiving the message password was sent to you. Waiting for a few days for it, I never received it, and through trying a few different times over a period of days I incurred a late fee. Upon calling in, Xoom refused to refund my late fee on account of their online portal issue. I spoke with a customer service supervisor who said it didnt matter what was reasonable, they would not refund the credit even though Im a new customer and had diligently attempted to pay my bill. I even told the supervisor I would contact Clark Howards team to let them know to please warn people about this poor customer service as I would not want my family or friends to have this experience and the supervisor advised that did not concern them. Please take this into account Im letting others know of this poor service.

Simply put you are responsible for the distributor fee to whomever provides the gas for Xoom energy. For my family this summer this constitues 300% of the price we pay to Xoom energy for gas + xoom energy service fee. Thats right, 3 times the amount we pay for gas and the xoom service fee combined! This amount was not disclosed within our contract nor on any of the energy provider comparison websites. Call to find out the local distribution fees prior to signing a contract because Xoom energy is not forthright about the amounts you will be charged. The lack of disclosure and transparency is simply bad business!

Incredibly bad customer service
I pay my bills on-line and always on-time. Due to a mix-up at their end, they thought I was delinquent, and mailed the disconnect notice to my home address. I was out-of-country, and my house/dog sitter did not open my mail. A e-mail would have reached me easily, but instead my service was shut off. I e-mailed proof of payments, and even sent an extra payment, so I had a credit balance. It still took two weeks to get reconnected. This was during winter, and my home had no heat and no hot water while someone tried to live there. Never again will I use Xoom!

Initial rate is good then gotcha at renewal
First, their website is not very user friendly. The initial 12 month price was the lowest so I signed up at $.39 per therm. At renewal, they offered $0.34 per therm online, but informed me that was for only new customers. The lowest they could offer an existing customer with an excellent repayment history was $0.46 per therm so I moved to Infinite at $0.37 per therm.

I understand people have to pay bills even during hardships but good luck trying to work anything out with this horrible company! We are in the middle of dealing with a pandemic and layoffs, so I called to get a payment arrangement on my bill. They offered me nothing! Just an extra week to pay the whole bill or get disconnected. Then when I review the bill there is over $100 in EXTRA fees. $10 twice for a disconnect notice but I only received one. Late charges twice. No slack at all for things we have no control over. Hell even dropping the $100 in extra stuff would make it easier to pay the bill considering I have paid my bill for over 18 months and am in good standing with the company. My bill steadily increases from $280 to $480 every month but I was duped into signing a 24 month contract "for a better rate"! Horrible company with no care for their customers. Definitely would not recommend. Not even a pandemic will stop them from getting their money on time.

Nightmare when switching to Xoom!
Their system when switching is full of pitfalls and errors. I had to call 4x and finally ask to speak to a supervisor to get my service switched when the upcoming deadline was approaching before my rate with my previous provider went up dramatically. Xoom said they were having technical issues switching customers, and even though the customer service reps were friendly, I might as well have been talking to a tree because nothing ever happened to fix the problem until I escalated. Xoom jeopardized my switchover and potentially was about to cost me major amounts of money. Its one thing to advertise lower pricing, but there must be the technical and service abilities to support customers who want to switch. Very bad experienc.

I am a new customer to Xoom. I contacted the company about my first bill I received that was for only 2 service days. Starting 9/1 ending 9/3. They charged me the full AGL base passthrough fee of $28 dollars for only 2 service days. When I inquired why my first bill would only be for 2 days or why they could not prorate/credit my bill they said Sorry. Our system automatically starts new service dates on 1st of each month. Okay no problem, but if they know new service starts on the first why would they have their billing system setup to end statements on the 3rd of each month? This means each new customer gets charged the full AGL passthrough fee for only an initial 2 day service period. Seems like a scam and a rip off too me. They tried to tell me it all had to do with the day the meter was read. Okay fine too, but charging people a full base fee for only a 2 day service bill is unethical at best.

I was approved for LIHEAP this winter, the check ($1000) was sent on 12/13/21 deposited on 1/14/2022 and never credited to my account.A copy of the processed check was emailed to the address they provided but when my casemanagercalled they said it was the wrong one. He has gotten nothing but a runaround after several calls, they can't find the check record in their system, or the acccount even though the previous bills have all been paid. So there is a large sum of money they can not find that came from a federal source, I do not understand why the finance deptartment cannot track it.

I used Infinite Energy until they were bought out. My rate with IE was $0.549 and my rate with Xoom Energy was $0.399. Yet my monthly bills arrived $20-40 more expensive than the corresponding month from IE despite having a lower rate. There must have been some added fees in there. I'm not sure, because the bill is very difficult to understand and the website is awful. I do not recommend Xoom.

No detailed bill and payment posted 10 days after receipt
New customer here and not very impressed. Their prices may be competitive, but is it worth the hassle of going back 20 years in how you pay bills?
1. Detailed bills are ONLY available if you have a paper copy mailed to you. You can see the balance in an email that they will send or on their payment portal but not a detailed bill.
2. My first payment was sent by the bank as an check (apparently Xoom can't receive a e-payment) and arrived prior to the due date, but it was not posted until 10 days after the due date and marked late. I was informed that the only way to ensure that payment is marked as received on time is to call, make a payment on their portal, or set up auto pay. I only use auto pay with trusted companies and Xoom had not earned my trust.

The worst company to do business with!
Ive had Xoom Natural gas for 6 months, no problem. Then I moved to another town, I asked them to switch it over to my new address, they never did! Their online service is terrible, its hard to log in, it wont accept your password, so I had to call costumer service to help me, they told me I could not get service at my new location because I never gave them $150.00 deposit for their service. I have never heard of such a thing. They didnt ask for that when I first got natural gas from them at my previous address, now they want $150.00 deposit? Sounds like a scam to me. Im going to contact the BBB about this. Well see if I get the natural gas that I ordered from Xoom. Customer service is nice but they dont know the answers to the questions I ask. Do not use this company, terrible service!

My contract is ending and I am leaving Xoom
Like other customers, I get late fees. I use bank bill-pay every month and have confirmation that the bill was paid on time. I complained to Xoom customer service about my recent on-time payment being considered past due and then talked to the Georgia Public Service Commission about that. Xoom customer service says Xoom does not post bank payments for 4 or 5 days, therefore it is late. One solution they suggested was that I could send my payment several days before the due date so that it would actually be on time. How many days ahead should customers pay? I should be able to pay their bill the same way I pay my other bills. I told Xoom that I would change providers because of this. They refunded my $10 late fee but that is not the issue..
In response to my complaint to the Georgia Public Service Commission, XOOM sent a letter. Their response to me says that my bank bill-pay payments are an "external payment option, not a preferred method of payment offered by XOOM Energy. Xoom has other payment options available such as IVR and auto pay that will avoid late fees from being assessed."
Coincidentally, my Xoom contract will be over in 6 weeks. I have already talked with my new gas provider.

I recently signed up for a 2-year account, Paid my first bill thru BofA online checking and set the date 1 days prior to due date. I received a late notice email on the day my bill was due and notice of a late charge. I call in because BofA showed it paid I had selected (2 days prior). Xoom says it sometimes takes 2 days for them to process and for me to select an earlier date. Strange as I have never had to do this with any other provider - GNG, Scana, Gas South - always selected the due date and never had a problem. 2nd bill went thru and no email, sent for 2 days earlier than the due date, thought it was a one off. 3rd month I get an email missed payment assessment. BoA shows it clear on the 10th - due date of the 11th call customer no-service and I am told to select for it to be delivered even earlier because, while my payments are on time, their system automatically send the late emails on the due date. So for their problem I have to provide them a solution. instead of something as easy as setting up a delay in assessment emails, they would rather tell you to pay a week earlier than your due date so their electronic check processing system can post prior to their emails. I called this time because I want out of this dysfunctional relationship, I can't imagine doing this for 21 more months, it is not worth their discount. Nowhere in the contract did it say I would get late assessment every month when I actually paid them prior to due date. I can't fix their e-check processing system nor their accounts receivable. They are asking for 200 to get out of a contract - is this a company you want to spend your money on?
Shame I thought we had a new well priced provider in the area, I was wrong, very wrong.

I like so many switch in good faith to find out that they have been swindled by deceptive advertising. The Texas Attorney General should be notified of these illegal and deceptive practices. I signed up with zoom energy the mid of July. I have already canceled my service with zoom and went back to 4 change because of hidden fees I wasnt aware of. Even the manager Erica said it was my responibility to pay the early termination fee even though when I set up service I called and the gentlemen walked me though the set up and never mentioned the fees. I'm now stuck with a $200 electric bill and a $200 termination fee all for trying to do what was best for my family. We usually only pay 120 at most for our bill so this is a huge slap in the face. Management (Erica and Stephanie) have been unwilling to help my family out and are definitely not management material.

I ordered service online and got confirmation that the service will start on the 5th, today is the 9th still no lights. I am getting work done and have hired contractors they go everyday and I am loosing money everyday. I called today and was told they have a system glitch, so why wasn't I informed some kind of communication would have gone a long way. I could have safe money by not sending the contractors out everyday since he 5th. I asked if they can put a rush on it and was told unless I can approve someone will die then no. Worst service ever. I would suggest you directly to a big company.

Do not use this company!!! Beware of high hidden fees and although the customer service reps are very friendly, this company is a trap. We are a young family trying to save for a home, anywhere we can. We tried to get out of our plan after seeing that Xoom energy charges an energy service fee from Oncor Monthly of 65.00 and it would be 350.00 to close our service with them. Unbelievable!!!!!!

I went through an out salesman to get electricity. I was promised to have deposit waived, just email the salemam my DL in which I've done. Not only did I do everything asked. They gave me false hope by telling me someone will email/call to start my service... NO CALLS or EMAILS. Reached out to xoom for status...NO ONE HAD ONE FOR ME, had to send status update to another dept and was advised to call back in a few days. Called back a week later was given an acct # to make my deposit and what do you know, DIDNT WORK. Once again, I reached out to the salesman and xoom energy regarding to the issue. Rep named Diego told me to give 10 mins and try again...DIDN'T WORK. Spoke to another rep right after and was told to reenroll..ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME. So not only was I lied about having deposit waived. I lost the lowest rate that was given and now I have to reenroll. NEVER AGAIN. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE Ive ever got. I will not recommend them to anyone.

As a small business, until early this year (2018), I didn't select any of the energy delivery companies like Zoom. I never saw one on my bill and the bill was in the $400/mo range throughout the year. I was called by Zoom and they said that I didn't have any alternative that I needed to select an energy delivery company (I think that's what they call them...I've always just let that aspect service default to AEP and the bills have been reasonable so I never worried about it). Zoom talked their service up like I would be so well off. They said there are times of the year that it is most advantageous to lock in (if I understood them right) and I said, "I'm too busy for that I work 65 hours/per week just keeping the business going...I don't have time to try to sift through various plans and lock-ins, etc. I just want something that is simple and doesn't make it worse (words to that effect). I told them I really didn't want any gimmicks because as time goes on, I can't pay attention to the specials and gimmicks, that I had always been happy with just doing things as I had. They said I could not longer do that because it would just default to some company and the rates would be worse. But they assured me I would be so well off with Zoom Energy.
I didn't get a bill in May and then got a warning message in June that I was behind on my account (I imaging I would be if I didn't receive the bill). So I called and got the May and Jun bill paid over the phone at a substantially higher level than previous bills. I figured they "got me" for the late bill but didn't have the time to fight it. Now I get a bill in July that is 50% higher than my previous levels for years. I am in the health care profession and I am the provider so I don't have time to pay the bills myself. I have to be with patients. I have a staff person pay the bills. I can't look at every one of them. Essentially my staff pays the bill and lets me know if it goes up...which they did this month. Now I'm paying 50% more than I used to before I joined Zoom energy. This is a scam!

Xoom wont release switch hold
Last year, I got behind on my Xoom Energy bill due to the fact that I was placed on a month to month plan without being notified of the change by Xoom, I received a bill for $600 and decided to go ahead and set up a payment arrangement with them to get the entire bill paid off due to being on a fixed income and not having much money come in for the month. I have been consistently in the hold with Xoom because Ive been still paying $300+ dollar bills for every 2 weeks because I was placed on a variable plan once again. The company wont let me out for this very reason, Ive spoken with managers and they have been unwilling to help, this has grown to be a very frustrating experience with them and soon as this past due balance is paid off Im done

I've been with Xoom Energy since around "2014" - I was told to call them every summer to keep my rate's down - So I called them in May - was told it was to early to call back later - I called in September and locked it in at that time not realizing that my next bill was going to be at 0.171 KWh - they of course didn't bother telling me that. I open my bill for this month and it was $600 dollars!! I called them and spoke with Dario who said he didn't have any record of me calling in May - that I was between billing cycles and it would go down next month - I asked to speak to a manager, he said a manager can't do anything for you until she listens to my past calls - I insisted on speaking to a manager - She said she saw where I called twice re my rates but since they told me to call back on another day she couldn't do anything for me(she chose not to) I don't feel like I should have to call and chase down locking my rates in - Once should be efficient - She was passive aggressive, didn't even try to work anything out with me. I NO LONGER am with XOOM ENERGY and I highly don't recommend them. They lie and don't care about customer service.

Was stationed over in Korea came up for Renewal and I was out in the field and was unable to do so. My mother was staying at the house being the bill while I was in Korea. Her bill went from $70 to $177. Following month 233. Call them to find out what was going on and got locked out of the rate for the yearly renewal. This company is one of the worst companies ever, find a cheaper rate somewhere else.

Very easy to sign up for with great rates to start BUT.... After 9 months price doubled & it has taken over 6 months to cancel their "outrageous service"! Worst Decision ever made
I decided to use XOOM for my gas Provider and in one month I had bill of $358.25 ($158.62 - 44.28%) charges more than my local Gas Company. I switched because time when I switch rate of XOOM was little less than my gas company NJNG. Afte one year they shoot up price like anything and i ended up paying dearly. By the time i realized what was going on it was two years and i must have paid $$1500 more than i should have paid since i have large house and i live in NJ in colder weather. To save couple cent, do not switch to this shady company who will show upfront some saving and lock you in contract and you forget to switch after contract is over.

Dealing with this company is like dealing with crooks. They have created multiple accounts and are showing balance due on that. I make the payment on the existing account and it shows posted on a different account and I still have the past due about showing up. After talking to customer service for an hour all they could tell me is that they will research it now that they have identified where the payment got posted!!!!! Do your self a favor dont deal with these crooks!! I know I am going to switch first thing tomorrow morning and I will see them in court with their shady practices!!!

I have had XoomEnergy for 6 months, twice I will pay my pill and not a week later they will charge me again. The first time they returned the money to my energy account so it deducted off my next bill. After the deduction I had 18 dollars left. The 18 dollars disappeared. The 2nd time I called it in and the customer rep hung up on me. I cannot wait to get off of Xoom.

I never signed up with them. Their agent came to another friend of mine, and my friend showed him my bill as well to see if he can save me money or not. He said he will get back, and signed me up for their fixed plan of about 190 usd/ month (electric only). I have solar panels, and my electricity if totally free... All of a sudden I got emails from them, which I replied asking what is this about. Then I called them a lot of times as well, but didnt get any call back. Finally I got in touch with someone, who cancelled my account. However, in the next bill, I saw this amount, and PSEG said in the next bill, I will again see this amount. This is ridiculous. I am ending up paying about 400 USD for no fault of mine. They should be prosecuted like Well Fargo, for signing up people without their consent.
And, did I tell you that their customer service is the worst... No luck in resolving the issue so far...

Simply put you are responsible for the distributor fee to whomever provides the gas for Xoom energy. For my family this summer this constitues 300% of the price we pay to Xoom energy for gas + xoom energy service fee. Thats right, 3 times the amount we pay for gas and the xoom service fee combined! This amount was not disclosed within our contract nor on any of the energy provider comparison websites. Call to find out the local distribution fees prior to signing a contract because Xoom energy is not forthright about the amounts you will be charged. The lack of disclosure and transparency is simply bad business!

If I could give y'all NO stars, I would!!!! I signed up for the pre-pay month to month service. I waited 5 days after making a 75$ deposit. My electric was still not on and zoom claim they have not received the payment yet however MoneyGram has sent it and had a confirmation number Port after 5 days I decline their services they told me then it would be a 10-day wait to get a refund for my money and then we're keeping $5 for their services which we never got one kilowatt from them ever it has been over a month and 5 days and I still have not received my money back this is a rip-off and a scam and they kept $75 of my money I sent it to them I never receive services and I never got a refund or a call back or I'm sorry for that matter worst experience ever customer service they give you a run around they don't give you a straight answer and they've never given my money back

Didnt notify us when term was up and charged .17 for a damn year! The. When called about it... nothing to say. Canceled the service to switch.. they turned everything off right way. The other company needed a day and didnt think it would be that fast. Called back said they couldnt put the power back on for 24-48 hrs. Worst experience Ive ever had with a company. Now in a hotel with a new born and 100s of dollars of food has gone bad since its taken so long. Not to mention all the money that I have over paid.

Moved to Houston and started with Xoom. Started with $.5 kWh and the contract ended and I wasnt aware until I received my bill and it doubled in monthly payments. My kWh is now 17.99 cents and the worst part is that I called in August 2019 to inquire about my high bill and other plans they offered and I got set up for a yearly one at 7.4cents/kWh. I received my bill last month Sept and it was still at the month to month rate and I called. i was assured that the next month would show my new rate and representative confirmed that I had changed it. I open my bill today today for Oct and still high and when I call, there is NO record of me calling in!!!! I have the records on my call log and I am sure that they can listen to the calls. I asked for a manager and they only work from 10am to 7pm. Representatives did NOTHING to make it right and I have to continue to argue with them to have them honor the contract that I agreed to over the phone!!! I am sure they arent going to find my calls or recordings and I highly doubt that management will even take a second look at this.

This place is a joke! I received my first bill with Xoom Energy as my supplier and their eaters were about $100 more than what my average bill looked like prior to switching. When I first switched to Xoom as my natural energy supplier I was told that they offered lower rates then my current supplier, the salesman lied to me, it was a hassle to switch and now Im stuck with them for two more months. Shop elsewhere before signing a contract with Xoom Energy.

Xoom website is not the most user friendly. I was emailed regarding my account to select my new rate plan and had until 1/21/2020 to make a selection. On 1/21/2020 I switched providers due to the new rates. I was charged a $350 contract termination fee as customer service explained that I had another year left on my contract. A full year but yet they wanted me to select a new plan already. Very misleading to a consumer. Not helpful with customer service as they wanted me to return to get the fee waived. Poor website, poor customer service and DECEPTIVE business practices. Would not and could not recommend!

This company abuses customers. Customer service is appalling, when you ask to speak to a supervisor they don't serve you, they ignore the problems of payments. They do not care at all to give a quality service, just seek to charge and more nothing. My electricity consumption tripled unexpectedly because the meter was in poor condition, when they changed the meter, consumption normalized. Even knowing this, both XOOM and TNMP, which is the utility company, proceeded to collect the payment that was incorrect, unfortunately I have to spend my time bringing this company to court and, if possible, bringing this case to the news. Horrible experience.

Now that I have ran into financial hardship due to a loss of income, their only solution is to set up a payment plan that will only further increase my bill in a couple of days. They lost my check when they changed billing locations and charged me a late fee.
I have never had any problems with any of my checks getting lost with my online bill pay. Xoom changed locations and they said I never sent in my payment (but I did). Then they said I would have to pay a late fee even though they understood that I sent in the payment. I complained and they said I would have to have my bank call them to verify it and then they might remove the $10 charge. When my bank called them, Xoom said they couldn't take the call on a recorded line and so the bank just gave me the money for the late fee just to simplify things for me and them. The customer service rep and the customer service manager acknowledged that even if it wasn't my fault, they didn't have the money so the charge would stand. I thought that this was very pore customer service and a huge waste of time.

They have decent prices, but when a billing issue arose, I had to call 6 times and speak with 6 different people - they never followed up or kept track of open items. They would not let me discuss the billing issue with the billing department. I had to go through customer service reps who did not understand the situation. Eventually, I just had to give up and pay the extra charges even though they were wrong. I decided it was best to pay them the charges and then just never use them again, than keep arguing with customer reps on the phone that did not understand the issue. Would never use them again, even if they had the lowest therm rate.

Ive been incorrectly billed from day 1. Their paper bill does not match the online bill ever - thats what one of their employees said to me - Rudy Aguila. I sent them a check on the first paper bill which was for the full amount of the bill. 3 weeks later Xoom has still not processed my payment. I was told to stop payment on the check and pay the bill online which I did. Then the next day Xoom attempted to process the check I had placed a stop payment on, and they charged me $25. Xoom told me to issue the stop payment - and then they charged me!
They told me they would issue a credit for $25 and they never did. Next month I pay my bill on their website. I pay the bill in full. Then I receive a bill showing another $25 fee carried over from prior month. I call customer no service, and I am told it will be corrected but its not. I filed complaints w the BBB and Georgia public service commission. Xoom has lied to the BBB Georgia public service commission and me. I have decided to switch carriers. Ive been in Georgia for 24 years and have never had a problem with any gas provider until Xoom came along. My recommendation is to steer clear of Xoom Energy! They have some kind of scam going on to try and boost their profits by deliberately not processing payments so they can charge late fees.

I tried to sign up with XOOM energy for natural gas in Georgia. I could not even get what should be simple questions answered from their customer service. I am glad I had questions during the signup. If I had to deal with their customer service after signing up I would have been sorry I switched.

I understand people have to pay bills even during hardships but good luck trying to work anything out with this horrible company! We are in the middle of dealing with a pandemic and layoffs, so I called to get a payment arrangement on my bill. They offered me nothing! Just an extra week to pay the whole bill or get disconnected. Then when I review the bill there is over $100 in EXTRA fees. $10 twice for a disconnect notice but I only received one. Late charges twice. No slack at all for things we have no control over. Hell even dropping the $100 in extra stuff would make it easier to pay the bill considering I have paid my bill for over 18 months and am in good standing with the company. My bill steadily increases from $280 to $480 every month but I was duped into signing a 24 month contract "for a better rate"! Horrible company with no care for their customers. Definitely would not recommend. Not even a pandemic will stop them from getting their money on time.

I found out in June that xoom had processing error with my automatic payments. it added up to 6 months payments while i was getting email confirmations that payments processed. my total eventually added up to over $2200 once i finally get a cancellation bill in the mail. I told the company i understand i owe the money and i'd make a payment plan, the company forced me to pay 50% even though it wasnt my issue it wasnt processed, and also put a lock on my account from transferring to another electricity company. after i paid the 50% they put the remaining balance into 6 installments. today (10/20) I called the company which had another system error that showed my balance to be a $1234 credit. If i didnt call to clear this up, it would have gone towards my bill and eventually it would have added up to me owing another significant amount of money. Im extremely frustrated and wanted to report the less than par business practices. after I cleared up my balance to my "real" balance i paid off the remainder and changed to a different company. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED i had to do all of this just to pay my electricity bill. I also reported this to BBB and posting it everywhere I can.

Improper Disconnect While in Covid Quarantine
I'm a single father of two girls who always pays bills on time. Xoom emailed me a bill on December 3rd which went to my spam folder, so I was behind by $67.54. They disconnected me on December 30th with no notice. After they disconnected, I received two identical bills in the mail showing a past due balance of $67.54. I explained to Xoom that they disconnected with no notice, and during a time when my children and I were in isolation because they were exposed to Covid by another family member. Xoom asked me to prove the covid isolation and I emailed 6 documents from my pediatrician office and the DPH. Xoom said these were insufficient and even after speaking with the president of customer service, they refused to reverse their mistake. Beware--they have no regard for human safety or customer service.

Xoom Energy double charged me two months in a row n basically blamed me for the outdated website that they have. I had to wait 10 business days to get a refund, never had a late payment n when I called got worst customer service ever...Do not sign up with them the only way they make money is to take money out of ur acct when ur bill has already been paid. I signed up for a 12 month plan in September. Received confirmation of my order along with notice could take up to 60days to turn over. Followed up and was informed AGL did not take action to turn on Xoom service. Customer service offered I re enroll now at a much higher rate. No assistance or attempt by Xoom to resolve. Cannot recommend this gas service provider---the obviously have systemic issues within CSR department in aquiring new customers. Do not select this company for your gas service!!

Ambushed With High Rates Without Notice
I was on Auto Bill. My contract expired. Didn't notice. Finally after 5 months I logged onto my account, just to find XOOM had more than doubled my therm rate. I called to see if they would backdate my charges to what I was originally paying. I was basically told tough luck and to suck it up. They had the right to change my rate WITHOUT notice. Nightmare when switching to Xoom!
Their system when switching is full of pitfalls and errors. I had to call 4x and finally ask to speak to a supervisor to get my service switched when the upcoming deadline was approaching before my rate with my previous provider went up dramatically. Xoom said they were having technical issues switching customers, and even though the customer service reps were friendly, I might as well have been talking to a tree because nothing ever happened to fix the problem until I escalated. Xoom jeopardized my switchover and potentially was about to cost me major amounts of money. Its one thing to advertise lower pricing, but there must be the technical and service abilities to support customers who want to switch. Very bad experienc.

I am a new customer to Xoom. I contacted the company about my first bill I received that was for only 2 service days. Starting 9/1 ending 9/3. They charged me the full AGL base passthrough fee of $28 dollars for only 2 service days. When I inquired why my first bill would only be for 2 days or why they could not prorate/credit my bill they said Sorry. Our system automatically starts new service dates on 1st of each month. Okay no problem, but if they know new service starts on the first why would they have their billing system setup to end statements on the 3rd of each month? This means each new customer gets charged the full AGL passthrough fee for only an initial 2 day service period. Seems like a scam and a rip off too me. They tried to tell me it all had to do with the day the meter was read. Okay fine too, but charging people a full base fee for only a 2 day service bill is unethical at best.

I received a bill for over $700 because I didnt respond to the letter that was mailed and theres nothing they can do to help me. On top of that, cancelling or renewing the policy can take 1-2 billing cycles and I may still receive bills that high until it takes effect. This is ripping people off charging 10.99 pkw. Are Roy kidding me!? This company is a joke and I do NOT recommend unless you are on top of knowing exactly when your service is due to renew. How can we rely solely on the mail to renew a contract!? I've used Xoom for 3 years, and it started to go bad when they got larger 2 years ago. When they started doing Xoom Texas (separate by states), customer service became horrible and information is always lost. I have been charged 2x Kwph for MONTHS because they lost my renewal contract and was fighting with me that I never renewed. Luckily I keep data of my own so I told customer service to play me a recording of the call (date, time, service rep info given) and they said no. Eventually the rep hangs up on ne after 45 mins of waiting.
I call back and get a manager on the phone after another hour or waiting. Finally they said I cant hear the original phone call of my contract renewal but Instead they would need to review it and if anything i can get a transcript of the conversation after review. I said that's fine but I would like to cancel my service after this year's contract is over.
I waited another week to finally get a call back, saying I was right and they were going to refund me for all of it if I would not cancel with them. Now here's where it gets worse. They attempt to refund me partial then I showed calculations on how it was incorrectly refunded, and last thing i hear is they were investigating. Oh and they tried to blame center-point for hundreds of dollars i was missing on refund. Now after i emailed for confirmation on my cancellation of contract after this year is over, no response at all.
Just go with Reliant, safe and reliable. They do not have rude customer service and are happy to assist loyal customers especially to who have been with them for years. I regret leaving them to help a local friend get a sales quota met....

I started enrollment in December 2021. A Rep, Kora, called me to tell me they only needed the statements from previous provider which I submitted via the web site. Kora told me that in 3 days everything was going to be finalized. Received an e-mail to enroll in autopay. Thought everything was fine. Found out they never completed my enrollment when I received a $600 bill from old provider (my average bill is normally $150 during the winter). They did not take any responsibility for this even after the quality department admitted that someone dropped the ball and did not inform me they had cancelled my account as something went wrong on their end. They only continued pushing me to enroll.
Stay away, they might show appealing rates but they outsource their processes which creates confusion. They are very inconsistent and their customer service is a joke.

Xoom is opening accounts without validation. Just received a collection account charge under my identity opened by Xoom. How does this happen nowadays?! Called the number for the agency, have to wait 30 days. Forget this, I called Xoom directly. Couldn't find my information, the employee was in Mexico call-center and wouldn't transfer me to the U.S. RIDICULOUS Eventually, employee gave me a number to call in Texas. Called the TX office and employee had to manually locate my information. She said I had to talk to billingdept. I was transferred and was placed on hold for 10 minutes and eventually the recording stated no one is available to take my call and disconnected me! THIS COMPANY IS A SHAM, STAY AWAY!!! By far the worst and most incompetent utility provider I've ever dealt with. I had my first bill sent to me for 4 days worth of usage (in the summer) for 1 person and it was for $2500. Only hot water and the gas stove uses gas. Ive cooked once and took 4 showers in that time period. I spoken to multiple service reps and also had to contact their provider to get a tech out here to ensure there wasn't a gas leak which there wasn't. Their provider told me that there was an accounting issue which I let the reps know, yet whenever following up 2 different reps told me that they had a special reading done and the amount is correct! $2500 for 4 days of usage?!! How is that even rational. I told them they needed to conduct an audit. Then the next rep told me they see that they combined the reading with the last tenant and my bill should be updated in 3 days. I checked my account again and it still wasn't updated the following week so I called back and spoke to the next rep and the next the next rep said oh we did a special reading and the amount is correct. At that point I lost it and told her this is ridiculous I've spoken to so many reps and wasted so much of my time because of your companies incompetency and so finally she put me on a hold and said she sees the error and she'll be calling me back "after doing more research." This company is absolutely horrible.

So after having a meter put in I decided to go with Zoom Energy and I wish Id never spend the time and money on natural gas heater because I havent used any gas yet being summer and my bills averaging $35 $40 a month without using anything and then I paid them and they never claimed they never got the payment. Youre better off going with propane or electric and staying away from natural gas these companies that are D regulated theres no accountability and theres like 12 surcharges on every bill unbelievable Im sorry I ever invested in this.

Signed up online. When checking on credit for $150 deposit, failed because of credit freeze(didnt know until I signed up with power company). According to their waiver policy, I submitted my invoices from previous company, sent email about lifting credit freeze, etc.. all I got was an email saying my credit was good but decision for deposit was made and couldnt be changed. Called 3 times . Customer service reps were polite but no help. One girl even told me that their goal was to charge everyone with deposit so my understanding is as long as they find any thing missing at any time, they will do it. Their online service is terrible, its hard to log in, it wont accept your password, so I had to call costumer service to help me, they told me I could not get service at my new location because I never gave them $150.00 deposit for their service. I have never heard of such a thing. They didnt ask for that when I first got natural gas from them at my previous address, now they want $150.00 deposit? Sounds like a scam to me. Had Xoom for a year, and they seemed... okay. Their interface for payment is kind of awful, but it mostly gets the job done, though occasionally, it doesn't process for 'some reason' and you have to go back in and try multiple times. Come the end of my term, they jumped my ONLY available rate up almost an entire dollar a therm, so I called to ask if they could price match their own current advertising. They wouldn't. I asked when I needed to cancel to let them know. "Please let us know by the 22nd of the month!" SO... I call on the 20th of the month and tell them I'm cancelling. "Oh... sorry... it's after the 19th of the month, so you'll be stuck with the month to month rate for another month because we can't cancel same month after the 19th." So this past month's bill was 4x my usual December bill, and it hasn't been an especially cold month yet. I would not go with Xoom again if they can't get their act together with valid information. Just know that they clearly are not set up to WANT your service for more than one contract. Ever.

I signed up for 3yrs at .56 in 2021. After one year the started raising rates all the way to 1.69. Customer service said too bad. There billing kept sending late notice even though we we Auto Pay. Took 3 mos to correct it. This company is inadequate at best. Make sure you get your plan in writing and signed.
I would suggest you use them as a last resort. GNG gave me 2yrs at .85 while xoom was charging 1.69.

I signed up with them in hopes to get electricity. Never got charged but they were going to put on my lights. That's according to the other provider that I got. Never got any confirmation email nothing. Ended up having to call this company and talk to six different people in my issues still was not resolved. I have to wait until Monday to get lights because these people do not work on the weekends. How convenient all other energy companies work 24/7 except these people. Now I have to wait for them to get the provider that I want to get my lights turned on. I would not recommend them. Nothing but a waste of time

Called FOUR times to add a new service to my existing account.
1. Was informed that I need to be transferred to a different team so was put on hold. Was on hold for about 30 minutes EACH time and got a message that "We are unable to take this call, please call back". Did for 4 times and each time I was assured by the first agent that they will make sure I am not disconnected.
2. Had to pay the $250 deposit and provide ID even though I have an existing account and am a customer for over 4 years.
3. Starting a new service with XOOM is very frustrating and tedious.

They charge for the two months in advance. And then blame it on AGL who has nothing to do with the billing. I've never paid any bill for the current bill and the next as well. $80 in the middle of summer when only using my stove is not a deal, but a deal breaker. So, I will pay the penalty, because it is actually cheaper to do that and just move on. I should have never left Scana..... Now I'm back! DO NOT USE XOOM!!!

Xoom Bills When Customer is Unaware then straight to Collection
Xoom was billing me for gas for 6 months and never sent me a bill. I was under the impression service was terminated, and I zeroed out my account (per phone conversations)... however, I have been told that because I didn't submit a written termination, I am liable for charges that I never even knew they were charging me for. And at the same time, I was paying the utility company for gas. I was told too bad, I am basically double billed and have to pay it. And they could not clarify what the charges were. I was sent directly to collection over a year and a half later without any idea I was even still considered a "customer." Horrible company and I would never recommend.

Disconnection notice after they apparently applied my payment to the wrong account
I received a late notice about a week after my bill was due in January 2024. I checked my bank and it showed an EFT in the full amount of the bill cleared the bank and was paid to XOOm on the day it was due. I figured it was just a hiccup in their system and disregarded it. This week I received a disconnection notice, saying the bill had not been paid. I called customer service and was told I had not paid the bill even though I had a reference number from the bank showing the bill had been paid in full to XOOM. Customer service said billing could not find the reference number and they would do an investigation to determine whose account that nearly $200 went into but that I still owned them the full amount or risked having my gas turned off next week. These folks have some issues.

I tried to switch from my current provider to XOOM Energy to save some extra money on my gas bills. The sign up process was lengthy and required a $150 deposit. They said you could waive the deposit with proof of payment of last 3 utility bills. After sending my payment history (perfect) with my current provider, this proof was declined and I still had to pay the deposit. After calling to customer service, they could not explain what was wrong with my proof of payment history and said they could not do anything further. I have a near perfect credit score and pay all my bills. It may sound trivial but there is no reason they should have me put up a deposit. It just showed me what I was getting into with XOOM for the next 12 months... not worth the savings to deal with these people. I'm going back to my current provider and happy to pay more.

Surprise $150 deposit, even with exceptional credit history
I wasted a lot of time signing up for service today, before I decided to cancel and hopefully never encounter this company again. I gave them info for a credit check. I have been at the same address for 24 years, and have a long term exceptional credit rating of 830-845, with no late payments EVER with anyone, including utilities. I was told that my credit had been reviewed and they needed a security deposit of $150. I asked for a manual review, because I thought surely this must be a mistake. I was still declined and they asked me to send proof of payment with my current provider for 3 months. I sent 6 months and quickly got an email that stated "after review", I needed to pay a security deposit of $150. Such a scam. No other gas provider in GA behaves this way with customers transfering in good standing from another gas provider. Steer clear.

horrible experience. Sent payment thru bill pay, XOOM claimed they did not receive payment. We provided proof from the bank via copy of check showing their bank/name. Weeks later they sent a disconnect notice, we called again provided copy of checks, they said thats not good enough, we need copy of bank statement...we blacked out info they did not need sent in, weeks later after many calls still not resolved, finally 2.5 months in we received a notice in the mail the account was finally credited, but demanding $30 in late fees!!! Still fighting this with them. DO NOT USE THESE FRAUDS

I only have hot water on gas and heat in the summer and in the summer months it's still 70$ they will charge you a 25$ fee if they disconnect. They are not willing to work with you at all it's a pretty bad company. They are in it strictly for the money with all the hidden fees and lack of assistance. Do not use this company it's highway robbery.

Xoom energy had customer sign a fixed rate 12 month agreement and at termination of 12 months sent a renewal email offering a fixed or variable rate guarantee for the next year. I selected a fixed rate but the rate was not honored. I realized the rate was not honored. I called customer service and customer service indicated they had on file evidence of the fixed rate selection and that they would calculate the overcharges over the past 12 months as a variable rate was charged in error. The customer service representative indicated they would issue a credit (estimated at between $1,500 and $2,000). I did not receive the credit and when I called back asking for the status of the credit a supervisor indicated I had selected a variable rate via email(which is a bold faced lie).

At 70 years of age I am extremely cognisant of the fact that my memory train often leaves the station without me so I am DILIGENT in paying bills immediately I get them. XOOM continued to send bills - sending my blood pressure SOARING as I would frantically check to find that I had already paid. And the reminders would keep coming one after the other. I wrote to them and BEGGED them to stop - to no avail. Paid my last bill and got a reminder each day after for three days! They will drive you CRAZY!!!
I finally complained to the BBB and they outright LIED - saying i had been contacted, and they could find no evidence of recent issues. BS - I can send copies to anyone who wants them as recently as last month;s bill!

I signed up late 2019, they ended up canceling the preauthorized credit card on file for no good reason and then forgetting to send the bills out for several months. They did write an apology for the mess they had created but I was still hit with late fees since I had only updated the credit card info on my one account.. so instead of having one seams-less system with one account for both they have them separated and youll have to log in twice and select a different account on a little scroll down that is easy to miss.
Anyway long story short Ive spend an hour on the phone to no avail, theyll get the late fees they do badly wanted, but never my business again.

Worst experience ever. Would recommend NOT to waste your time with this company. Their initial rates looked cheaper than other gas & electric companies. After signing up I never received the confirmation email so I called in to make sure the utilities would be set up, as I was moving into a new house the following week. 3 separate calls & each time I got the run around. NOBODY there knows anything that's going on and got completely different answers from all the reps. Was told I had to contact the utility provider myself, so I did. After speaking with them they said xoom had not even sent any information to them all. This went on for almost a week, going back and forth with xoom. At this point I was 3 days away from my move in date with NO UTILITIES. The second last time I called to speak with someone to say it was urgent that I have this set up otherwise I cannot feasibly live in this home, they said my account was CANCELLED! They lastly said they can send off my information again to the utility providers which at that point I advised them to remove my information from any accounts, I probably still wouldn't have any gas or electricity if I continued with them. Afterwords I was contacted by a different rep begging me to be their customer and stated that they "have been doing this for quite some time and I dont have to worry." They continued to tell me lies to try to get me to rejoin, which I had caught them in at least 3 lies. Super inappropriate. WORST SERVICE EVER.

My deposit checks were mailed to the wrong address in the USA and had to be mailed back to Canada. It took several months to even find out where the checks were. Because of the my status was canceled and I was told I would have to set up another account that this one had expired so the checks will not be cashed
I was reassured of this. A week later my deposit checks were cashed from my account. Lol unbelievable. Not I'm told it will take another 30-40 days to get a check mailed out to me and now have to submit my personal banking info to get my money back. Just a horrible experience from day one. I'm sorry I would not recommend using this company.

There were no notices ever given and everything was paid up to date at the end, we made sure of it because it was such a cluster f%^$ with these ppl, and here we still are getting charged more. From July to November, theyve charged my card $250 less than the bill. Eventually they sent me a notice saying I could be charged late charges on this balance forward. I called to discuss the reason for the balance forward and the Rep couldnt figure it out. He said I needed to pay it separately to clear it off the books. I paid it on November 7th.
The next time I called, that Rep said I shouldnt have paid that because it was something to do with energy rebates and how they were applied, so she refunded me the $250 on November 10th.
Then on November 28th my bill says I now have a balance forward of $245.11. And my December bill says I have a balance forward of -$121.31. I dont have a freaking clue how to we should be entering any of this into my books (we have several rental properties and must allocate expenses), and if I call them Ill be on the phone for at least 40 minutes while they put me on and off hold 27 times while they try to figure out their own mess. And Im willing to bet I wont get any correct answers or resolutionsyet again.
Another issue is nearly 2 years of back-billing adjustments (totaling nearly $600) on one of the properties, supposedly due to no physical meter readings being done during that time. Electric company told me only the retailer is able to initiate an investigation into the meter issue. However, Xoom tells me they are not responsible for the meters so I must talk to the Electricity provider. Another 40 minute phone call to try to convince them while they aren't responsible for the meters, they must be the ones to request an investigation on the meters. That was 3 weeks ago and still no follow-up from Xoom.
